Pennetta Wins Biggest Title of Her Career

Italian Flavia Pennetta overcame injured Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2 6-1 in the final of the BNP
Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

The 20th seed was aided by the Pole's knee injury that required a lengthy
medical time-out in the second set. Pennetta, who is now  12th in the rankings, wrapped it up with six
games in a row after an hour and 13 minutes.

Pennetta became the third oldest winner of Indian Wells as a result of winning at the age of 32. It's the Italians first title since 2010.

She also became the lowest ever seed to win in the Californian Desert as the 20th seed beat the #1 and #2 seeds back to back.

Pennetta became the third-oldest winner of the desert tournament after Martina Navratilova, who won at age 33 and again at 34 in 1990-91. It was Pennetta's first title since winning at Marbella in 2010.
